Description

An odd little man knocks on thirteen-year-old Jack’s window one dark night. The man looks like an elf, but elves don’t exist.

Mom, holding a gnarled stick in her hand, sees the little man. He quivers as if lightning might shoot out its tip. What the freak?

This encounter begins a series of events which land Jack and his little sister, Sam, alone in a desert town in a strange land torn by war.

The Bludwolf Army is coming. Jack and Sam are swept up in a caravan and leave for Erryn, a mountain fortress.

Along the way they encounter Trigon, intent on taking the land through bloodshed. Curiously, Trigon thinks he knows Jack. More importantly, he wants Jack dead.

Jack has help. He has a relic that summons an ancient warrior, the Toad Prince, sometimes, that is. The Toad Prince is fickle. And Jack has Sam who, it seems, has grown a sixth sense. Meanwhile, there is Mom, trying desperately to reach them in time.
